Earlier this week we showed you the official HATCHET 2 movie poster. Now, feast your eyes on the official red band trailer for HATCHET 2, coming from Dark Sky Films October 1st.

Its a little self-serving to director Adam Green, with plenty of push for the HATCHET franchise to become bigger than it ever will be, but the clips from the actual movie to hint at making good on delivering the carnage that has been promised with this unrated feature.

Korean Shocker I SAW THE DEVIL Heads to North America

Magnet Releasing has announced they've picked up the North American film distribution rights for I SAW THE DEVIL, a Korean thriller that made headlines in South Korea last month when director Kim Jee-Woon was forced to trim between eighty and ninety seconds of graphic violence from the film before it would be granted a rating, thus allowing for distribution of the film in Korea.

In I SAW THE DEVIL Lee Byung-Hyun stars as Dae-Hoon, a special agent whose pregnant wife becomes the latest victim of a disturbed and brutal serial killer, played by OLDBOY’s Choi Min-Sik. Vowing revenge, Dae-Hoon blurs the lines between hunter and hunted and good and evil, eventually becoming a monster himself in his twisted pursuit of revenge.

The film is being planned for a theatrical release in first quarter of 2011. Check out the captivating trailer below.

Official SAW 3D Theatrical Trailer Revealed

SAW 3D brings the franchise to a close, as a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw's brutal legacy. A group of Jigsaw survivors have gathered to seek the support of self-help guru while fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man with his own dark secrets, is about to unleash a new wave of terror.

I'm sure its just a marketing gimmick to sell the 3D aspect of the movie, but the trailer almost has me believing that somehow the audience will become part of the movie, a la William Castle, making each viewing a unique experience. Maybe the view changes slightly depending on where you are sitting in the theater or somehow select seats are "chosen" to become part of a specific trap? Were that the case I might just have to plunk down my $13 dollars and reinvest in the series. I abandoned the franchise after watching SAW III.

We'll all find out how the "traps come alive" when SAW 3D opens in theaters nationwide October 29th, 2010.

THE WICKER TREE Burning Soon at a Theatre Near You

Almost forty years after the original cult film THE WICKER MAN was released on an unsuspecting audience, director Robin Hardy is returning with a follow-up companion piece to the film entitled THE WICKER TREE.

Based on Hardy's own book Cowboys for Christ released in 2006, THE WICKER TREE tells the tale of two young Christians Beth and Steve, a gospel singer and her cowboy boyfriend, who leave Texas to preach door-to-door in Scotland. When they arrive at Tressock, the border fiefdom of Sir Lachlan Morrison, they are welcomed with joy and elation and assume their hosts simply want to hear more about Jesus, unaware of just how wrong they are.

Also returning to the screen in the film will be Christopher Lee, who played Lord Summerisle in the original film. Lee was initially to fill the role of Sir Lachlan Morrison, who Hardy wrote specifically for the legendary actor. However, an injury on another film forced Lee out of this role and it is now suspected that Lee will reprise the role of Lord Summerisle.

The film has been rumored to be completed since 2009, but has suffered multiple setbacks and delays. But now with an official website and a teaser trailer have been released, Hardy may finally be getting close to inducting an entire new generation into the old religion of the Celts and undo the damage that the Nicholas Cage starring remake has done. While no official release date has been set, we may be seeing the film finally see light of day in late 2010 or early 2011.

Cuban Zombies in JUAN OF THE DEAD

JUAN OF THE DEAD (aka JUAN DE LOS MUERTOS) centers around Juan, a typical forty-year-old slacker. When Havana begins to fill up with zombies, Juan decides that the best way to cope with it is to prosper. "Juan of the dead kills your loved ones" is his slogan, and his mission is to help people get rid of those infected around them ... for a price. But as the situation gets worse and everyone escapes to sea as a means to get away, Juan is left with no choice but to become a hero, staying to defend his country and protect his own on an island that has turned into a real bloodbath.

Cuba's entry into the bloated zombie-comedy film world, which is co-produced between Mexico and Spain, begins principal photography this September.

Here's the teaser trailer, which sells the zombie-killer-for-a-price motif pretty well.

TETSUO III THE BULLET MAN Coming To United States

IFC Films genre label IFC Midnight, has announced that they have acquired North American rights to two films from director Shinya Tsukamoto’s acclaimed Tetsuo trilogy: TETSUO III: THE BULLET MAN, the third installment in the series and the first new Tetsuo film in nearly 20 years, and TETSUO II: THE BODY HAMMER (1992), the second film in the series.

TETSUO III: THE BULLET MAN, Tsukamoto’s first English-language film, stars Eric Bossick as Anthony, a young man who was born and raised in Tokyo and is now raising a family there. What should be a happy time in Anthony’s life is not: his wife is crippled by anxiety and unable to leave the house. She also has recurring nightmares about a horrible fate awaiting the pair’s young son, Tom. Those nightmares turn out to be prophetic when Tom is cruelly run down in the street. Anthony flies into a terrible rage, and soon discovers that the power of his emotion transforms him into a strange, metallic monster. This delights the mysterious man who ran down Anthony’s son, a man who now continually taunts Anthony from a distance.

The company plans to release both films on demand and in selected theaters in early 2011.

Until then, here's the trailer for TETSUO III

MACHETE No Longer Faux; Here's The Official Trailer

Once upon a time in a grindhouse not so far away, MACHETE was just a fun faux movie trailer sandwiched between PLANET TERROR and DEATH PROOF. But then something wonderful happened... Robert Rodriguez decided to make it a really real movie, and on September 3rd, that movie becomes reality!

In the official trailer above, you'll see that the fake film scratches, jumps cuts and audio glitches seen in the original trailer have been removed in favor of a little gloss. But all the style, mayhem, grin-inducing dialogue and 100% ass-kicking still remain.

MACHETE stars Danny Trejo as a double-crossed, left for dead, and now very, very pissed off Mexican looking to even the score. The cast is rounded out by a nigh-jaw dropping list including Steven Seagal, Cheech Marin, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson and Robert DeNiro and is co-written/directed by Robert Rodriguez.

The MACHETE trailer should be seen this weekend on the big screen in front of PREDATORS.

International PREDATORS Trailer Shows the Bloody Goods

The international trailer for PREDATORS, which gives us a preview of all the gory mayhem that will untold when the film hits theaters in the United States on July 9th, is the ultimate apology for ALIEN VS PREDATOR and ALIEN VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM. Featuring bad-ass posing from the bad-ass characters including Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo and Laurence Fishburne and plenty of skull-and-spine tearing promises a bloody good time.

Synopsis: Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the creative auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members - human "predators" that are now being systematically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

PREDATORS is directed by Nimrod Antel (VACANCY), produced by Robert Rodriguez, and features Derek Mears (Jason in the FRIDAY THE 13TH remake) as one of the main Predators.

Teaser Clip for Mortal Kombat Rebirth

Teaser clip for an upcoming project called Mortal Kombat Rebirth. Is it a movie, a video game... perhaps both? One thing is for certain, this eight minute clip is easily better than both Mortal Kombat movies.

Clip includes footage of Jax, Sonya Blade, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Baraka and Johnny Cage, all of which have been given a "Nolan-ized Batman" treatment with a real-world makeover including body modification and rare diseases to explain some of the more fantastical characters' attributes.

No dates, but this listing for MORTAL KOMBAT (2013) seems to be the most likely movie this clip is associated with.
