Ozploitation EL MONSTRO DEL MAR Trailer, Poster and Screenings

In EL MONSTRO DEL MAR, three gorgeous but deadly hired killers, Beretta, Blondie and Snowball, hole up in a small beachside community to keep a low profile. But this town has a dark secret. The local old sea baron, Joseph, tries desperately to warn them to never go into the water. But these crazy vixens listen to no one, especially no crazy assed old fool. So the Kraken awakes! Now, along with Joseph and his beautiful grand daughter, Hannah, they must fight for their lives against this furious creature of the deep as the sea rises in a tidalwave of blood.

Stuart Simpson's EL MONSTRO DEL MAR brings together elements of b-movie monster flicks, Suicide Girls attitude, and a heaping dose of FASTER PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL! inspiration, together with a thumping rockabilly soundtrack and topped off with an Aussie accent.

THE WICKER TREE Burning Soon at a Theatre Near You

Almost forty years after the original cult film THE WICKER MAN was released on an unsuspecting audience, director Robin Hardy is returning with a follow-up companion piece to the film entitled THE WICKER TREE.

Based on Hardy's own book Cowboys for Christ released in 2006, THE WICKER TREE tells the tale of two young Christians Beth and Steve, a gospel singer and her cowboy boyfriend, who leave Texas to preach door-to-door in Scotland. When they arrive at Tressock, the border fiefdom of Sir Lachlan Morrison, they are welcomed with joy and elation and assume their hosts simply want to hear more about Jesus, unaware of just how wrong they are.

Also returning to the screen in the film will be Christopher Lee, who played Lord Summerisle in the original film. Lee was initially to fill the role of Sir Lachlan Morrison, who Hardy wrote specifically for the legendary actor. However, an injury on another film forced Lee out of this role and it is now suspected that Lee will reprise the role of Lord Summerisle.

The film has been rumored to be completed since 2009, but has suffered multiple setbacks and delays. But now with an official website and a teaser trailer have been released, Hardy may finally be getting close to inducting an entire new generation into the old religion of the Celts and undo the damage that the Nicholas Cage starring remake has done. While no official release date has been set, we may be seeing the film finally see light of day in late 2010 or early 2011.

MACHETE No Longer Faux; Here's The Official Trailer

Once upon a time in a grindhouse not so far away, MACHETE was just a fun faux movie trailer sandwiched between PLANET TERROR and DEATH PROOF. But then something wonderful happened... Robert Rodriguez decided to make it a really real movie, and on September 3rd, that movie becomes reality!

In the official trailer above, you'll see that the fake film scratches, jumps cuts and audio glitches seen in the original trailer have been removed in favor of a little gloss. But all the style, mayhem, grin-inducing dialogue and 100% ass-kicking still remain.

MACHETE stars Danny Trejo as a double-crossed, left for dead, and now very, very pissed off Mexican looking to even the score. The cast is rounded out by a nigh-jaw dropping list including Steven Seagal, Cheech Marin, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson and Robert DeNiro and is co-written/directed by Robert Rodriguez.

The MACHETE trailer should be seen this weekend on the big screen in front of PREDATORS.

International PREDATORS Trailer Shows the Bloody Goods

The international trailer for PREDATORS, which gives us a preview of all the gory mayhem that will untold when the film hits theaters in the United States on July 9th, is the ultimate apology for ALIEN VS PREDATOR and ALIEN VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM. Featuring bad-ass posing from the bad-ass characters including Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo and Laurence Fishburne and plenty of skull-and-spine tearing promises a bloody good time.

Synopsis: Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the creative auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members - human "predators" that are now being systematically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

PREDATORS is directed by Nimrod Antel (VACANCY), produced by Robert Rodriguez, and features Derek Mears (Jason in the FRIDAY THE 13TH remake) as one of the main Predators.

Teaser Clip for Mortal Kombat Rebirth

Teaser clip for an upcoming project called Mortal Kombat Rebirth. Is it a movie, a video game... perhaps both? One thing is for certain, this eight minute clip is easily better than both Mortal Kombat movies.

Clip includes footage of Jax, Sonya Blade, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Baraka and Johnny Cage, all of which have been given a "Nolan-ized Batman" treatment with a real-world makeover including body modification and rare diseases to explain some of the more fantastical characters' attributes.

No dates, but this listing for MORTAL KOMBAT (2013) seems to be the most likely movie this clip is associated with.

First Glimpse at Prequel for THE THING

Here is your first glimpse at the exterior set for the wholly unnecessary prequel to John Carpenter's THE THING.

At least they got the snow right so far.

Director Matthijs van Heijningen will show the world in 2011 what went down just prior to the events in THE THING. We'll just have to wait till then to find out if what was glimpsed by MacReady and the rest of the crew via fuzzy VHS tapes should have been just left alone.
